Profile

Hayden Werdal

Hayden Werdal is a third-year psychology major at Seattle University, and still deciding whether he wants to pursue med school or a doctorate in psychology. In middle school, his preferred sport was track and field, specifically the 100 m sprint. In the Fall of 2014, he was diagnosed with a rare condition called AFM, after his spinal cord was attacked by a virus. The resulting damage means that he is now a quadriplegic with a ventilator. Despite this large change in his life, he still tries to keep his same occasionally witty attitude. Some of his hobbies are playing video games with his friends and brother, watching horror movies, and giving his animals plenty of pets. He is genuinely grateful for the opportunity that Swim with Mike has presented him, and helping him achieve his goals.
