My brother Kevin was in a swimming accident two years ago and suffered a severe spinal cord injury which caused Kevin to be a quadriplegic. If you know Kevin, you know that he is one of the most determined, intelligent, personable and hilarious people out there. Kevin’s injury has not stopped him from pursuing his dreams and striving to be the best he can. I’m constantly in awe of his positive attitude and ambitious goals to make the world a better place. Kevin is currently attending USC and pursuing his Masters in Business Administration. His education is being funded by Swim with Mike.
On April 8th, I will be participating in a charity swimathon for a Non-Profit called Swim with Mike in honor of my brother. Swim with Mike helps physically challenged athletes achieve their higher education ambitions through scholarships. My brother, Kevin, is currently a scholarship recipient and studying for his MBA at USC. Through this program, many students with physically debilitating injuries have received degrees from top universities, gained independence and been able to actively and positively contribute to society. I anticipate swimming 30 laps and I’m looking for support from friends and family to help raise funds to send athletes who have had their lives changed due to accidents and injuries continue their education.
