Jake Thibeault

Jake was paralyzed (T7 and T8 fractured vertebrae) after a hockey collision resulted in him slamming against the board backwards and at an awkward angle. He has no recollection of the collision and considers that a blessing. Jake plans to pursue his studies in business administration and when he is not studying or working hard in physical therapy, he enjoys spending time with his close family and friends in Maine. Prior to his injury, Jake was an active student where he enjoyed playing golf, hiking, weightlifting/conditioning, biking, and roller blading.

Now a senior at Babson, he is still conditioning but says it’s more like therapy which is 6 days a week and a minimum of 2-3 hours each day. He’s also learning to play the guitar and serves as a board member with the Thomas E. Smith Foundation for Paralysis to assist others who suffer froman SCI. He is looking forward to graduating this spring.
