Diana Theobald

A swimmer, triathlete and marathon runner, Diana graduated from Northwestern University in 2008 with a BA in Radio/TV/Film & Animate Arts. She moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of being a development executive at an animation studio. Diana soon advanced into various roles at Marvel Entertainment, Disney, NBCUniversal and Warner Bros. Discovery. In 2015 she became a left below-knee amputee after a rock-climbing accident, also breaking her right ankle and sacrum.

Since the accident she has become an explorer of adaptive sports, swimming recreationally and is a proud member of the Angel City Sports wheelchair basketball team with fellow recipient Olivia Northcutt-Wyly. She’s a volunteer with Foster Nation, serving foster youth in Los Angeles and Camp No Limits, educating young people with limb loss. Diana recently decided it was time to pursue a second career in law, hoping to be an advocate and legal resource for others navigating life with a disability. This fall, she’ll begin classes at Loyola Law School.
