Lindsey Anthony
A lifelong athlete, Lindsey grew up in constant motion—swimming competitive laps before sunrise and later playing collegiate tennis at Warner University. She spent her early years teaching water safety and lifeguarding. After college, she dedicated herself to education and nonprofit outreach, carrying the discipline of sports into service‑driven work.
Everything shifted unexpectedly when she was diagnosed with Transverse Myelitis the same night she learned she was pregnant. The illness left her suddenly unable to walk. Newly married and building a career, she went from an active, world‑traveling twenty‑something to being paralyzed from the neck down. Recovery became her full‑time focus and after months of hospitalization, intensive therapy, and the support of her husband and medical team, she regained strength, eventually walking again. Over the next decade, she raised four children, led community programs, and designed inclusive spaces for children with special needs.
Lindsey is entering her second year as a Doctor of Audiology student at the University of Florida, bringing a patient’s perspective to her training. Her goal is to restore human connection through hearing care and to support families navigating life‑changing diagnoses.
