Originally from upstate New York, Paul fell in love with tennis at an early age. Hoping to further his tennis career, he moved to California in 1981. One week prior to entering his first tournament, Paul was paralyzed in a car accident. While at USC as a Swim With Mike recipient, he established a reputation as one of Southern California’s top-rated wheelchair tennis players.
