Swim with Mike alum and USC School of Theater graduate John Siciliano is on the boards in New York City, acting in New Light Theater Project's documentary play titled, WAR WORDS.

In this latest edition of The Wave, we introduce the 11 new scholarship recipients who are joining 32 returning scholars for the 2023-24 academic year. Also, we introduce the Legacy Circle giving program and see what recent USC graduate, Alex Ruiz, is up to this fall.

42 years ago on March 7, 1981, the first-ever "Swim For Mike" was held. The following year, the event was renamed Swim With Mike, and the rest is history! The Ripple Effect has expanded nationwide, offering scholarships to 282 physically challenged athletes attending 148 colleges across 47 states. In the pool, one swimmer creates a ripple and a team makes waves. We wish to thank our generous friends and supporters of Swim With Mike. Thank you for making waves!

Fall brings the season of giving, thanks, and community- all principles that Swim With Mike was founded on over 42 years ago. In this fall edition of The Wave, we introduce our new scholarship recipients: 12 new recipients from 9 states and Australia, joining 37 returning recipients. Swim With Mike Scholarship Alumni Regan Linton (UCSD MFA '13) debuts a film, Imperfect, she co-directed with features at the ReelAbilities Film Festival and Downtown LA Film Festival.

Swim With Mike Scholarship Alumni Austin Whitney (UC Berkeley JD '16) is the founder and Board President of Accessible Festivals and the President of Ten Fifty Entertainment where he works to ensure ADA compliance at some of the nation's largest festivals and events.
